About Laurie…
I am the mother of five children. I gave birth to four and adopted my nephew, (now son) when he was three years old. He is as much my own child, as the rest, and a true gift to our whole family. I was a single mom for over 14 years, and worked as a Licensed Family Home Childcare Provider. I have been taking care of children for over 25 years. I absolutely loved my job, but had to quit as the result of complication following a surgery in 2007. I have been writing a book titled,” Home Daycare and Practical Parenting.” I am happily remarried and living in Nevada.
I feel there is much to share with other families. I was married for many years to a good man, who unfortunately was diagnosed with Manic/Depression. That was a very sad and difficult road to travel. Then, as a single parent, I soon realized it can often be very overwhelming raising a family on your own. Yet, it truly was the most profound and positive experience so far!
My other website is Homedaycare4You.comĀ It has useful information as far as what to look for in childcare and how to start your own business. As a former child care provider I saw how important the relationship was between provider and parent.I hope this site will bring parents together, offer a chance to talk, provide information, and share our stories.
Hey Laurie,
I ran into Jeremy at Sam’s and he told me about the website. I am so glad you are doing well. We miss you and still feel so very fortunate to have had you such a big part of Jake’s life. Our newest addition, Ryan (20 months) is our little bully, beating up on Jake (6 in Feb.) Jake is in kinder at the school I work at and is loving it…especially the part that everyone knows him by name. It is like he is a little rock star on our campus. Tough job, huh? Anyway Frank and I are doing great. Please email me your address so that I can send you a Christmas card with the boys’ picture.
We love you and miss you,
Chantel Sarver
I have some questions can you please call me at 260-387-5768.
Thanks Laurie
Christa
Hi Chantal,
I am so glad to hear the boys are bringing you and daddy so much joy! That’s the goal. We are doing great, keeping busy and loving the heck out of our new grandbabies!!!!! I make many trips back and forth to CA and feel grateful the kids come out here as much as they can too. How is teaching going? Still the good super hero for those children? Take Care and I will try to find your phone number, hopefully I might still have it from an old file.
Love Laurie
